Janet, you will be laying on your back with your legs up. You will have one hand around the back of each knee, holding your knees to your chest and thus out of the way. He will probably have you holding your knees widely separated, so that each upper thigh can be treated individually. Because it is for punishment, I should think it can be quite humiliating. It holds two particular advantages. First, you can see him, see the implement, and you can see the target area. You get to watch the whole thing, and you get to watch yourself take it. You can maintain eye contact during the entire conversation. I rather doubt he will allow you to escape by closing your eyes. Second, your upper thighs and lower bottom are well presented. What's in between is extremely vulnerable in this position, and you will be motivated to remain quite still lest he miss his aim. Even when you are sobbing uncontrollably, you will still remain quite still, lest he miss his aim... won't you? You might panic, and one leg or both might slip out of your grasp to flop down. Can you imagine the humiliation involved in this proof of your lack of self control? This was why you were being punished in the first place. For him to start over from the beginning is the only way to ensure you are getting the point. Of course if you happen to *kick* him as you flop down... you'll soon know to be more careful the next time. Fortunately, holding your legs gives your hands something to do. They need some such occupation, because they get you in such deeper trouble when they fly back to cover your bottom. There can be no question about your state of arousal at any point in the conversation. Picture, if you will, holding this position for several minutes of conversation prior to the first stroke landing. Being quite rightly chewed out, while completely bared for punishment, because you are incapable of getting the point without the spanking, and you both know it. And once it begins, you must hold yourself still, no matter how badly you need to kick. You are being punished.
